9月15日の敬老の日を中心に各地で敬老会が開催されている。県議会議員としてお祝いの言葉を述べる機会が多い。昨年まではよく「地域にとって高齢者一人一人は図書館のようなもの」という国連アナン前事務総長の名言を引用して挨拶。
今年は、今の日本の政治の「3捨て社会」について触れた。まず最初の「捨てる」は75歳以上の後期高齢者を姥捨山に捨てるような政治。二つ目は、ワーキングプアのような非正規雇用で若者を使い捨てするような政治、三つ目は（これが一番肝心なのだが）最高権力者が二度連続で途中で政権を捨てる政治である。
しかし、我々は働くことを捨てるることはできないし、たたかうことを諦めるわけには行かない・自民党が「挫折し、捨てた政治」は我々が担おうではないか・・・。
